Cherry Hill, New Jersey
Program
The Beowulf office building is located on Route 70, a major thoroughfare in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The building is three stories in height. The ground floor entrance lobby opens onto a covered parking area. The two upper floors contain the client headquarters and 16,000 square feet of leased Class “A” office space. Flexibility was a major goal in the building design, incorporating modular planning concepts and adaptable building systems. The exterior of the building is clad in synthetic stucco and window wall. A stepped cornice crowns the outside walls. The modular windows allow flexibility for various office arrangements. The dark blue glass provides optimum daylight while minimizing solar heat gain. The site design carefully integrates the maximum building floor area allowed, required parking and landscape areas. The entry lobby contains a grand glass railed central stair, elevator and utility spaces and is the primary means of vertical circulation. The three floors of the lobby are open to each other. A three-story glass curtainwall provides daylighting and visual relief. Heating and air-conditioning is provided by a variable air volume system with multi-zone capability and independent climate controls allowing for a variety of office configurations.
