Program
Additions and alterations to the Folsom School, a $6.4 million project, includes the renovation of existing facilities and the construction of two new additions. The additions are single-story structures with a total of 22,000 +/-square feet. The "front" addition is a steel-framed masonry clad structure containing new science, art and music classrooms; the "rear" addition is a
pre-engineered metal structure (i.e. Butler building) housing the Gymnasium/Multipurpose room with adjoining masonry clad full service kitchen, boys' and girls' locker rooms and toilet rooms, physical education office, staff room, mechanical/electric room, and storage rooms. Renovation work includes roof replacement and roof canopy at existing main entry; window replacement and exterior wall modifications; HVAC replacement in classrooms including electrical and related work; alteration work within the existing all-purpose room and kitchen, including demolition of the existing stage, roofing and exterior metal wall panels; and rehabilitation/reconfiguration of the main office area, nurse's suite, and men's and women's toilet rooms. Site work includes new bus loop, barrier-free curb ramps and sidewalks, storm drainage and utility systems work.
